Description
We are a multi-OD private practice with a focus on full-scope primary eye care. We have strong relationships with ophthalmology (retina, oculoplastics, cornea/cataract) and students are able to interact with the surgeons.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1. Understand the business of optometry from a private practice perspective and how every team member, including the OD takes an active role not only in patient care but in the financial well being of the practice.
2. Learn the importance of working with a team (technicians, opticians, other ODs, billing personnel, etc and healthcare referral sources) in the care of the patient.
3. Become comfortable working and communicating in a team environment for the care of the patient.

Student Review
"This site exceeded my expectations. I learned so much more than I thought was possible. I went into this externship with the goal of learning more about anterior seg and posterior seg disorders. One of the doctors here is a dry eye specialist so I got a lot of exposure to dry eye and treatments for it. And there were some interesting cases with retinal disorders as well. They are big on helping you find your style of practicing and will help you become a better clinician and leader."
