Student Review
"Absolutely incredible VA experience. You see 1 patient every hour including the DFE and the attending checking the patient at the end, so your efficiency will improve dramatically throughout the quarter. You will become confident in recognizing glaucoma, diabetic/hypertensive ret, and different types of cataracts. You also have complete independence with refraction, so you will get very comfortable with writing prescriptions and deciding which Rx/add to give. Though you have complete independence, the attendings are always available to answer any questions, double check an IOP, check angles/gonio if you are concerned about dilation, etc. and they will always redo your DFE. You also have 1 day per week of observing/performing low vision exams, but always under the supervision of the low vision OD."
