Objectives:
To become comfortable with managing ocular disease, whether during an annual eye exam, a walk-in problem visit, or medical follow up (ex. glaucoma testing, dry eye management)
To become familiar with medical billing and coding (99 vs 92, special tests, I&R, modifiers, procedures etc.)
To become proficient in managing post-op care for cataract surgeries, as that can be very helpful in collaborative care with ophthalmology

Student works up patient, dilates, does DFE, orders any extra testing they deem necessary, then present the case to the preceptor with a diagnosis, treatment, and management. Then, preceptor goes in with student to finish exam.
Students can observe these MD specialists in their clinics and in surgery (ex. RD repair, trabeculectomy)
