Student Review

This site exceeded my expectations in the 3 weeks that I spent here; I am very disappointed I wasn't able to complete the full rotation. Dr. O is an amazing resource regarding private practise and is ALWAYS willing to share behind-the-scenes information about how he runs his very successful practises. Not only this, but this site taught me tips and tricks in diagnosing and treating disease. Although this is a primary care site, they see a significant amount of disease that I had not seen at my other sites. The attendings are all approachable and they truly cared that I was learning something from them.

I learned things like why to prescribe one prescription vs another depending on the personality of the patient in the chair, how to approach contact lenses, and how to approach prescribing medications for conditions. They guided me towards independent care keeping in mind that I would be on my own in just a few short weeks. One of my favourite takeaways was that you dont have to know what the condition is to know how to treat it. Every day I left the office with either business or medical knowledge that I didnt know prior to that day. I think that this site would be amazing in producing well rounded clinicians in 10 weeks.
