Miscellaneous comments:
Please describe the housing availability or stipend:
Students can stay at the University Dormitories, or can rent a flat at the city. Dorms- 1200 euros/mth(includes 3 meals/day, laundry service, cleaning service, access to the sports center, etc). A flat can be rented from 400 euros/month. The University would provide support on housing search. The dorms are around 30km away from Novovision clinic. There is easy public transportation available. However, it would be much easier for the student if he/she stayed at the city. Information on the accommodation provided by Universidad Europea de Madrid can be found at: http://www.uem.es/en/students/accommodation.

Student Review
"I learned a lot about ortho K lenses during our observations at LASIK center. We also observed a lot of LASIK, PRK, LASEK, and femto LASIK at Novovision. It was tough to see a lot of CL cases ourselves when we did direct care because sometimes patients wouldn't show up or they wouldn't schedule CL patients. We had to ask the director Cristina Alvarez, to add more CL patients. They were super sweet about adding more CL patients and more direct care hours. If you feel you are not seeing enough patients, just let them know and they will try to add more clinic shifts. One thing to remember is that optometrist don't dilate in Spain so you will not evaluate any retinal pathology. Everyone is super friendly, sweet, and helpful. So don't hesitate to ask questions about anything and ask for more clinic shifts if you need."
