Student Review

"This site was a fantastic educational experience. Much more familiarity with AMD and normal tension glaucoma. A lot of gonioscopy/pachymmetry experience. You are never treated like a technician. You see a patient from start to finish and they have technicians available to take OCT/fundus photos/ field, however, if you want to learn how to use an instrument (AKA OCT), they are eager to teach you. Monitoring patients for diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma is pretty routine, as 85% or the population have either/both. Additionally, a good exposure to uveitis and treatment. You'll get the occasional interesting walk-in w/ crazy ant. seg. issue, hemorrhagic PVD/tear, etc. Overall, I don't think I could have asked for a better rotation."
