Description
MyEyeDr (formally Ossip Optometry) is a multi-site private practice with locations in the greater Indianapolis, IN area. The extern will rotate through four clinics that provide different experiences in primary care optometry, including specialty contact lens care, pediatric exams, glaucoma treatment, and other anterior and posterior segment ocular disease management. All locations are equipped with diagnostic technology including OCT and Optomap. Externs can expect to log 500-600 patient encounters during the rotation.

Student Review
"I enjoyed my experience at Ossip. All of the attendings are very helpful, approachable, and want you to learn. You go to 4 different locations to get exposed to different things. Anderson has a lot of retinal disease (sarcoid, juxtafoveal telangiectasia, diabetic ret, AMD). Westfield is mostly primary care with some specialty lenses (specialty soft, sclerals, ortho-K, hybrids). Eagle Creek has a lot of glaucoma, retinal disease (CNVM, diabetic ret, AMD), and urgent care visits (foreign bodies, conj cysts, viral conjunctivitis). Greenwood is a mostly primary care with a few urgent care visits. You'll fit soft lenses at all locations and become more comfortable with fitting multifocals and monovision. I also improved significantly on coding/billing which will be beneficial upon graduation. Technicians work up the patients and it's nice to have a lot of technology at your disposal. The EHR system is easy to use."
