Student Review
"This rotation was everything I could've asked for for my first site. You get exposure to such a large scope of optometric practice. The site is hospital-based, so you get to spend half the day upstairs working alongside ophthalmology, and half the day downstairs in the Wells Eye Care Center seeing basic examinations. Upstairs consists mainly of ocular disease and urgent care cases, while downstairs you see basic examinations and a large amount of specialty contact lens patients, particularly Keratoconus. Since it is a teaching hospital, you have access to almost any type of testing you desire, as well as the ability to refer to ophthalmology on-site and follow up with the patient. Highly recommend this site!
Dr. Bussey was incredible to work with. She is an extremely intelligent and dedicated Optometrist, and did not hesitate to share her knowledge and advice. She was extremely approachable and willing to answer any questions and discuss any cases. Most importantly I felt as though she treated me as a colleague more-so than a student, and allowed me the opportunity to work through cases and determine treatment and diagnosis myself, which we then discussed together. She is kind and understanding, and an overall fantastic doctor to work alongside!"
