Broad exposure to clinical and surgical ophthalmology. Opportunity to spend time in the operating room and direct contact with senior sub-specialized ophthalmic surgeons. Exposure to interesting pathology along with the ability to follow the patient through their entire journey.
This hospital-based practice offers a diverse range of surgical cases with a focus on cataracts, eyelids, retina, and refractive procedures. Optometrists train students on conducting exams and specialty testing before allowing them to perform the tasks themselves. Students will have the opportunity to conduct specialty testing and preliminary exam components independently. Students will work under the guidance of ophthalmologists to follow the case to the end. Specialty equipment includes but is not limited to: topography, pentacam, HVF, OCT, UBM, and biometry.

The site can help you determine housing based on if you plan to travel by car vs metro. Metro is a 5-minute walk from the hospital. Free parking is available which is roughly a 10-minute walk from the clinic. There is closer parking onsite which costs 10 dirhams (~$3) per day.
The preferred language is English. The hospital accepts most local insurance and sees patients of all socioeconomic statuses.
All ages of patients are seen from pediatrics to geriatrics.
