Heartland Eye Consultants is a regional specialty eye and vision center, comprised of a group of optometrists that provide care in both ocular disease and vision therapy and rehabilitation. The patients are largely referred from other eye care professionals.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1. Increase comfort level providing advanced care to patients with complex or multifactorial conditions affecting the eyes and visual system.
2. Gain experience in utilizing specialized testing to provide the highest level of eye care.
3. Gain understanding of the workings of a private practice with an extensive network of local eyecare practitioners.

Arrival procedure for students:
Students will spend time over the first week shadowing the OD's and technical staff to gain understanding of the office flow, software and equipment.
