Description
Our practice philosophy has been to treat others like we want to be treated, which has served us well. During the time in our practice, the student will sharpen their diagnostic skills and gain the efficiency required in a busy private practice. The student will also gain experience to all contact lens modalities. There are no other private optometry or ophthalmology offices in our area, and we see a number of emergency visits, allowing the student doctor an opportunity to gain real-life experience in this facet of optometric care. They will enjoy how rewarding it is to help these patients in the moment of need. We also have a vision therapist in the office 2 afternoons a week that the student can observe if interested.
My goal is to make the time spent here worthwhile in terms of learning and experience as well as sharing the enjoyment of being in a thriving private practice.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
-
Efficiently complete full exams with appropriate test selection in a primary care private practice setting.
-
Complete a contact lens fitting independently and efficiently, guiding patients to most appropriate lens selections.
-
Be proficient at selecting appropriate coded to be submitted to in

Student Review
"I saw a full schedule of patients as my own schedule and was given the autotomy to make clinical decisions myself. I saw standard refractive cases along with more complex, established patients. I was also given a good portion of the medical visits/walk-in patients, which allowed me to work on triaging and urgent care optometry. I would 100% recommend this site to any student."
