Combined ophthalmology/optometry secondary care referral practice. Pre and post-operative management of anterior segment surgery (cataract, LASIK/PRK, DSEK/DMEK, cornea cross-linking) patients.


Objectives: 

- Methods of efficient patient flow.

- Management of complex ocular disease in a secondary referral care environment.

- Effective patient education and communication.

Orientation: One day tour and introduction to the practice, review policies, establish computer access.

A mix of independent examination and collaborative exam/management of ocular disease & pre/post-surgical care.


Dr. Michael Coleman is an anterior segment surgeon and corneal specialist - interns will participate in the clinical management of LASIK/PRK, cornea transplant (PKP, DSEK, DMEK), cataract as well as cornea cross-linking.


Housing stipend: $1000 per student
