Advanced Vision Care is a privately owned, academically focused, research oriented ophthalmology practice that focuses on the anterior segment. Our primary focus is in cataract, cornea, glaucoma, and ocular reconstruction.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

1. We would love to show what an O.D../M.D. model practice looks like for future optometrists. Similar to how other specialties rely on PA's, the ophthalmology practice depends on optometrists for the completeness of patient care. It will be valuable in showing what this collaboration looks like and the opportunities that are available to optometrists in these settings.

2. We would love to show the various complex ocular diseases and the ways to approach them. In addition to our routine exams, we have a clinic based in complex ocular diseases such as Artificial Iris evaluations, subluxed and dislocated IOLs, dysophotopsia and unhappy cataract patients, compelx glaucoma - acute angle closure, collapsed chambers, etc, corneal ulcers, fungal keratitis, acanthamoeba, and many more. 

3. We would love to show an optometrist practice in a medical setting with a focus on annual exams, dry eye management, post-operative management, and the performance of procedures like Lipiflow, IPL, plugs, and other in-office procedures.
